Whilst only minutes away from many of the capital’s popular sights and shopping areas, it is far away enough to provide a quiet sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Thimphu.

Our rooms all offer wonderful views out across the Thimphu Valley. You can see prayer flugs fluttering across the hills in the distance, the rooftops leading to downtown Thimphu, as well as a glimpse of some of Bhutan’s sightseeing icons in the distance including the Memorial Chorten.
12th CENTURY CHANGANGKHA LHAKANG
HISTORICAL SITES
Bhutan Suites is located just below the popular 12th century Changangkha Lhakhang. The oldest temple in Thimphu, it was established on a site chosen by Lama Phajo Drukgom Shigpo who came from Ralung in Tibet. Parents traditionally come here to get auspicious names for their newborns or blessings for their young children from the protector deity Tamdrin (to the left in the grilled inner sanctum). For those with energy to burn, further afield visitors can walk to the Memorial Chorten or Takin Preserve.
